Afshan qualified with a BSc Hons in Optometry from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2000. She went on to work as a freelance ophthalmic optician for 8 years, in a wide variety of Opticians across the North East of England. Finally she settled back in her home town of Durham where in 2008 she managed her own practice till deciding to move to Guernsey in 2013 her long-time partner Amar. After marrying they moved to start a new life, taking over from Simon in his retirement.

Amar qualified from Bradford University in 2001. He started work with a multiple optician quickly working his way up through the ranks, to become manager of the flagship store in 2004. Amar then went on to open and manage two of his own practices in the Yorkshire area. Amar and his wife Afshan decided to move to Guernsey in 2013 after falling in love with the island way of life. Out of work you will often find Amar racing his Kart!
Helen qualified with a BSc Hons in Optometry, also from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2013. After working for a year in Glasgow, she moved to join the Larbalestier team in Guernsey with her partner, who works in finance. Helen brings the advantage of being more recently qualified and so more up to date with recent advances in investigative technologies, complementing the experienced team she works in. Helen is a keen sports woman and enjoys boating. She and her partner were pleased to bring their boat with them all the way from Scotland.
Deb qualified in Bradford sometime in the last century. Over the years she has worked at Trouteauds with Simon Larbalestier and also for Webster Opticians. During that time she has built up a loyal following of patients who value her honest opinions, straight talking manner and expert dispensing advice. Deb lives in Guernsey with her husband and has three children and two dogs.
